- SUBJECT: MPW 3.0/MacApp 1.1 checkbox problem
-
- Dear dear,
-
- Yes, I'm one of those old fogeys using this odd combination. I promise to
- convert after the conference next week. But meanwhile, I have a problem.
-
- I am using the following:
- Mac IIci, 8MB RAM, 80MB internal drive
- MultiFinder (2600K for MPW)
- System 6.0.4
- MPW 3.0
- MacApp 1.1.1
-
- I've managed with MPW 3.0/MacApp 1.1 for a long time. The last time I compiled
- successfully with it was on a Mac IIx and a Plus with System 6.0.2 (approx.).
- Now it still builds without complaining, but I find one major problem: none of
- the check boxes in my dialogs work. They all display the setting that I set
- them to, but act as if they are disabled. That means that I can't get the
- check mark to appear or disappear; the only feedback is that the border of the
- small square gets thicker while the mouse is down. ResEdit shows that the
- controls are enabled, and if I copy in a dialog from an older version of the
- program that still works, the check box no longer works. Disabling and
- enabling with ResEdit doesn't seem to have any affect. The problem is still
- there if I run the program or even compile on an SE/30 with System 6.0.3. I
- also tried copying UDialog.p and UDialog.inc1.p from my original MacApp 1.1
- disk, and deleting the object code to force it to be compiled again. The
- problem is still there.
-
- This problem happens in all of the checkboxes in the program; that means at
- least a couple of hundred of them. My guess is that it has something to do
- with the Control Manager and the UDialog code (do I have to go back to an even
- older version of the System?). I would simply forget about it, and wait to
- convert to 2.0B9, but I really need to recompile my code as soon as possible.
-
- Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
-
- Thanks.
-
- See ya.......Erez
